Since 1989, ORS Impact works alongside renowned social impact leaders, supporting their work to accomplish their missions.
ORS Impact first worked with GaFCP in 2008 to develop an outcome-focused theory of change (TOC) that articulated the organization's core strategies and expected outcomes. Development of a clear TOC helped the organization better communicate its role and influence; in particular, the TOC identified the types of outcomes most directly related to the organization's systems- and policy-focused work and conveyed the unique and synergistic contributions of the GaFCP's core strategies.
Building on the TOC, ORS helped GaFCP articulate specific measures of effectiveness including those that describe successful implementation, and those that address changes resulting from GaFCP's efforts. In addition to facilitating the identification of measures, ORS worked with GaFCP staff to identify and support development of data collection and data management approaches. GaFCP has tracked measures annually since 2010, and findings have informed GaFCP's reporting to funders and the organization's Board of Trustees.
In 2017-18, ORS Impact supported GaFCP through an inclusive process of updating the organization's theory of change and measures. Updates reflect the evolution of GaFCP's core strategies, recognition of the organization's achievements to date, and the organization's stronger focus on race equity.
