Since 1989, ORS Impact works alongside renowned social impact leaders, supporting their work to accomplish their missions.
The initiative supports partnerships between housing authorities and school districts that are aimed at improving educational outcomes for students whose families live in subsidized and public housing.
ORS Impact is leading efforts to further a collective understanding of what successful and sustainable housing and education partnerships look like, and how partnerships contribute to positive impact for students and families. Evaluation activities are aimed at learning how housing authorities and school districts can effectively collaborate across systems to improve educational outcomes for their shared students. ORS Impact has provided technical assistance to partners regarding their data collection and measurement and has designed and implemented data collection methods including surveys, interviews and social network analysis. Data collection has focused on exploring the systemic and structural elements of partnerships as well as development and change over time.
ORS Impact has also facilitated communities of practice to deeply explore topics within and across partnerships, and with a wider community of housing authority and school district staff and other organizational partners. Evaluation findings have been shared with a wider field audience interested in leveraging knowledge and insights about effective housing-school district partnerships.
